Munktellmuseet
Munktellmuseet är en museum inom Eskilstuna. Museet ligger inom Munktellstaden samt öppnade detta drivs från Volvo Construction Equipment.[1] utsågs det mot världens bästa museum inom sin bransch.[2]
Museet fokuserar vid industrihistoria samt framförallt tillverkningen vid Munktells Mekaniska Verkstad och AB Bolinder-Munktell vilket tidigare plats verksamma inom lokalerna. Bland utställningsobjekten finns fungerande ångmaskiner, tändkulemotorer, jordbruksmaskiner och traktorer, bland annat den inledande svenska traktorn från Museet har även en körduglig kopia från Förstlingen, Sveriges första ånglok samt enstaka ångvagn tillverkad i Eskilstuna [3] denna plats finns utställningsrum men även en verkstad för reparation av maskinerna och enstaka föreläsningssal på grund av personer.
Munktellmuseet är öppet alla dagar och förmå även bokas utanför öppettiderna för grupper och guidade visningar.

Munktell Company Museum
Metal-working and mechanical engineering in the Swedish city of Eskilstuna already had a lengthy history when, in , Johan Theofren Munktell () established the Eskilstuna Mekaniska Verkstad Aktiebolag (Eskilstuna mechanical workshops company) which is the oldest of the companies that are now constitutents of the construction equipment division of Volvo. Johan Munktell visited England to study foundry practice and after his return moved his workshop to a new site, which is still occupied by Volvo. The Munktell company initially made coin presses and printing presses, but in began to building steam railway locomotives, the first of which was Frykstadloket, the second loco in Sweden. Munktellmuseet
The museum was opened in and today has an exhibition area of about 5, square metres. Among the almost exhibits in the exhibition are steam engines, construction and agricultural machinery as well as tractors and engines. They tell a part of Sweden's industrial history since the first half of the 19th century.
Visiting the Munktellmuseet
All the machines you can discover in the museum are restored and fully functional. Among them you will find highlights such as the first Swedish tractor from or a replica of the Förstlingen, Sweden's first steam locomotive. Next to them are wheel loaders, dump trucks and many other machines that you can even climb on and try out.
In total, the museum's collection comprises about objects. Most of them come from the former Bolinder-Munktell company, from which the museum emerged. Both the company and the museum are now part of the Volvo Group. In , parts of the museum were renovated, and in a new interactive exhibition you can learn more about the innovative technologies and future visions of Volvo Construction Equipment. With VR glasses, you can even control the modern machines yourself.
